June 1
We met up with some of our best friends from med school Jake & Hailee Oman in South Jordan and saw the new Cinderella movie. I just knew Hailee would adore it as much as I did! We lunched at Olive Garden and talked for 2 hours! We shopped at Gordman's because I had never been...the boys were thrilled. Haha. It was hard saying goodbye to them again! At home with the family again, we played what Danielle calls the "apostasy game" from her mission. Everyone writes a funny sentence then passes it to the next person and they draw a picture, then the next person writes a sentence based on the picture, and so on until it gets back to the person who wrote the funny sentence! We definitely had tears of laughter going on over at the Chapman house!
June 2
James and I worked on my Dad's birthday present. We ran errands together and watched Criminal Minds. I finished reading Lord of the Flies for the first time (ick!). Marissa and I made brownies together and we played Scattergories with the family. Oh and I got THIS in the mail finally! I'm a BYU-Idaho graduate of Marriage and Family Studies!
June 3
Happy Birthday to my sweetheart of a husband James! I can't believe he's 29. He packed up the whole truck while I cleaned our room. We ran errands together and I read Old Yeller (sad). We watched Cars with Marissa & Danielle and played Darn It and Scum with the family. Yummy tacos for dinner and peach cobbler from the dutch oven for his birthday dessert! We played the "apostasy game" again and What If...Then game with mom & dad, Peter, Spencer, Steven & Kate, Danielle, and Marissa. It was sooo funny. Then I gave James his birthday present-Monopoly Deal and we played it with Pete, Steven & Kate. I won the first round, then James won. We said our official goodbye before moving to RI to Pete. Sad!

June 4
We left James' family today and we all cried. We drove our moving truck for about 10 hours today. Dinner at Wendy's and camping out at the Walmart parking lot! We debated forever where to park (we wanted good lighting so people could see us, but dim lighting so we could still sleep). Yes that's right-we slept in a moving truck! It was surprisingly comfortable because we had our mattress in there and we haven't slept on it for a year so it was actually nice! And it was cool but not cold, and I had James to protect me. The Walmart was super nice too, and even the bathroom had a hotel feel to it! So we had a nice free stay!
My view sleeping in the moving truck!
June 5
We finished the drive by listening to the rest of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (yes the British one!). We stopped at Dairy Queen for blizzards. We arrived in McKinney in the afternoon and spent time with the family. We chatted with Dad about GI Joes after he opened his 50th birthday gift that we made for him (a GI Joe binder to keep a history of all the Joes he's collected for his posterity). Mom also opened her gift that I got her too for her birthday that was the day James graduated. Paxton the dog was so happy to see us! Piper and I watched Pretty Little Liars together. Love watching our shows together!
Dad loving his 50th birthday present & showing it to Chan!
June 6
James and I went to a few garage and estate sales. We got a mirror for my vanity for $2, a big gorgeous gold mirror for $18ish, 2 Christmas wreaths for $1 each, brand new white queen pillowcases unopened for $0.25 and a nice metal meat tenderizer for $0.25. Score! James packed up the truck and we went to the grocery store. We all dined at Cheddars with Mom, Dad, Chan, Pi, Nans & Gramps for Chandler's high school graduation dinner. I gave him a graduation candy gram and he loved it! James also got some money and a beach tote/blanket for our adventures in Rhode Island for his birthday. It was a wonderful day with the family in Texas!

Loving on Nans
So proud of my brother the high school graduate!
June 7
Together mom and I made her potato salad and then we all went to church. Pi came to Relief Society with me so we could watch mom teach the lesson. I chatted with my old visiting teaching acquaintances from when we lived in the ward before. James picked up the trailer from Penske for my car. Mom & Dad left for their anniversary cruise. We had an amazing family prayer before they left, and I'm so thankful for the gospel and my family. James grilled hot dogs and we had chips and the potato salad with it. We went to Nans & Gramps' house and devoured Gramps' chocolate chip cookies. We went through several antique inventory boxes with them and they generously gave us the antiques that we liked. James also got some tools from Gramps. We talked from 4pm-9pm! We always love visiting with them. It was sad to say goodbye. We packed some more then went to bed.
Dad's artwork is in the June Ensign!
June 8
We packed up and said goodbye to Chan, Pi, and Pax. I was super sick and we had to keep pulling over. Listening to Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets couldn't even ease my illness. So we didn't drive that far and I felt sad about that. We stopped in Jackson, Tennessee. We had soup and breadsticks at Olive Garden for dinner for our sore throats. We stayed at a really nice Howard Johnson hotel for only $54. Sleeeeeeeeeep.
June 9
We had a good driving day even though we were both miserably sick with colds. We stopped to spend the night at the Killpack's house in Blacksburg, Virginia. Thank goodness for their kind hospitality. It was soooo good to see our best friends. We watched their cute kids jump on the trampoline and enjoy their huge backyard. We played "extreme" dominoes the Killpack way and stayed up late talking and laughing. I love them so much!
Love Jenna & Luke!
June 10
This was the WORST sick and driving day. It was SO boring, long, with lots of worries. We got lost in New York and we just wanted to get to Rhode Island already! Let's just say Heavenly Father blessed us with miracles. By the time we made it to Andy & Bri Bergeson's house it was 11pm and we were dead exhausted! We're sooo thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing us to arrive safely! And also soo thankful for the Bergeson's hospitality!
June 11
We slept in until 10:30am! We hung out with Bri and baby Faye. We opened a checking account at Centreville Savings bank and got our appraisal for the house. We got some stuff out of the moving truck we parked at Brian & Bobbie's house and chatted with them and their kiddos. We picked up Friendly's ice cream at Stop & Shop for Saturday's smoker bbq plans. The Bergesons treated us to Dominoes pizza at Goddard State Park and then we watched a basketball game together (or the boys watched and the girls talked haha).
June 12
We unloaded our truck into the garage of our new house thanks to the generosity of the previous owners while we waited to close on our house. We had help from Andy and Brian which was super nice of them. James and I watched House, M.D. and we hung out with Andy and Faye and ate sloppy joes while Bri went to mutual. We watched the edited version of Braveheart and ate Friendly's ice cream.
June 13
We had a yummy smoker bbq with meat & yummy food over at the Lehnhof's although the Bergesons provided the smoked meat and we provided the Friendly's ice cream. Bri also made this to-die-for cowboy caviar that we couldn't stop eating. The Levins came and Bri's sister & boyfriend came, and a family in the ward moving to Massachusetts came as well. It was great fun!
Baby Faye Bergeson
June 14
Happy Birthday to my awesome Dad! We went to stake conference with the Bergesons and sat by the Lehnhofs. After lunch and a nap we moved our stuff over to the Lehnhofs to stay with them and give the Bergesons a break from us!
June 15
Staying with the Lehnhofs is quite fun when you get to play Legos with Finn! We enjoyed having family home evening with them. They are such a cute family!
June 16
James and I took a walk in the summer humidity of Rhode Island. We loved hanging out with the Lehnhofs and playing with Finn, Remie, and baby Livie!
June 17
James had his first day of orientation as a doctor at Kent Hospital! I'm so proud. He said he had tons of paperwork to do. All the other interns are nice. The assistant director of the program invited us over to her house in Coventry to go out on her boat in their backyard pond (more like a lake, it's huge!). That's where we first met Matt and Olivia. Matt is an emergency medicine intern with James and Olivia (Liv) is his fiancee. The Levins were there too and we ate pizza from Dave's Marketplace and roasted marshmallows for smores. The "lake" was beautiful and it was fun to meet new people!
Johnson Pond (more like a lake)
June 18
We closed on our house!!! We are SO excited. We ate at Coal Fire Pizza with the Lehnhofs, Bergesons, and we met Dan & Eve Ackil in Brian's class, and Justin and Tiffany Valiquet also third years. Then we went to the residency graduation/new intern banquet at the Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown. There we met the other interns: Jamie McKee, who James rotated with here, and his girlfriend Nikki Diaz from Florida. Then Reece Wilson and his recent bride, Lauren Hall from North Carolina. Then Joe Pepe and his recent fiancee Meaghan Linnell from Massachusetts. We saw Matt MacAskill and recent fiancee Liv Miko again, both from New England. Then Bryn DeKosky who is super nice too! We sat with the Bergesons and Lehnhofs and had a great time!

June 19
I went over to OUR house and I cleaned foreverrrr. I was so exhausted and very discouraged because it seems no matter how much I clean it is never clean. We had a BBQ over at the Lehnhofs and the Bergesons came over. We played hide and seek with Remie. She loves James!
June 20
Happy 4 Year Anniversary to us! We worked on the house for a long time. James took off the wallpaper from one of the bedrooms and the hallways. I got James a cheesy card, some fruit, and Reeses Oreos. He surprised me by taking me to a really nice yummy restaurant in downtown East Greenwich called the Grille on Main. I was expecting Applebee's because we had a gift card haha, so it was a great surprise! We ordered the mashed potato pizza for an appetizer (yum!), I had the mac and cheese with chicken and he had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries (all yum!). We had a fabulous time. I love him so much.
James did an amazing job tearing down the nasty wallpaper!

Happy 4 Years to us!

Mom & Dad Fakkel gave us a grill for our new home as an anniversary gift! Thanks!
June 21
Happy Father's Day! It's also Finn's 5th birthday! We had a great day at church, and I volunteered to lead the music in Relief Society and read lots of quotes for the lesson. James volunteered in Elder's Quorum too. We love our new New England ward! We celebrated Finn's birthday and he loved his new Lego set we got him. So cute.
Finn was super excited!
I love Remie's shirt "It wasn't me" haha!
Finn the Birthday Boy turns 5!

Loved spending time with little Livie today!
June 23
Happy Birthday to my sweet Grandpa Fakkel! I spent the day cleaning the house. Joy.
Let's pretend I made this New England lighthouse cake for my grandpa's birthday. I totally didn't. This is a random photo I found on the internet :) It's the thought that counts right?
Absolutely exhausted from cleaning the house in this humidity!
June 24
We spent time with interns and new friends at Blu on the Water in East Greenwich. It's also a dog friendly eating spot so Reece & Lauren brought their adorable dog Foscoe and Bryn brought her cutie dog Emma. Making new memories.

June 27
Another day of cleaning our house. Loved hooking up our dishwasher to the sink to run it. Joy.
June 28
Enjoyed church and then went to a welcome new intern BBQ hosted by Lacey Vogts, a 4th year resident. She's from Oklahoma and has the CUTEST baby Reed. It was fun chatting with our new friends.

June 29
Went to lunch with my new gal pals at Tavern by the Sea in downtown Wickford overlooking Wickford Harbor. I'm grateful for new friends whose significant others will be going through the same stuff James will be as a new emergency medicine intern/first year resident!
Me, Lauren, Nikki, Liv, Meaghan
June 30
More work on the house! James is getting the hang of things at the hospital!
I can't believe how quickly June flew by! On to July!
